Yes we are still alive. I keep letting my blog fail and I have to get better. So here is the latest with us...

Chloe is 3 now and such a smart girl. She loves her little sister and playing outside. She can say her ABCs and count to forever. Her writing is lacking but she's 3 for heaven's sake but she is practicing her letters by tracing. She loves applesauce and pizza and pretty much anything daddy eats.

Cayleigh is 1 and growing like a weed. She eats EVERYTHING and LOVES FRUIT! She started walking at her 1st birthday and is already starting to color on her sister's coloring books. It's quite cute. She loves to hear herself scream and being outside is probably her favorite thing in the world. She loves milk. She is definitely a daddy's girl, something I'm not use to. It works though Chloe is a mommy's girl and Cayleigh a daddy's girl.

The latest news is that we are expecting #3 and it's a BOY! Cash Aaron will be here in October. We are so excited especially Chloe. She can't wait to have a little brother. So now it's out with the pink and in with the blue!

I have been so bad about updating this thing now that I'm addicted to Facebook. So here we go.

Cayleigh is now 8 months old and will be 9 months on Dec. 1. She is crawling, pulling up on everything and is a pretty happy girl. She loves her baby food, can't get her to eat table food to save her life. She is in 12 month clothing and has yet to keep a sock on her foot.

Chloe is officially a terrible 2. I wouldn't say terrible, she is definitely trying my patience a little. She is LOVING her dance class. LOVES it. No matter what kind of mood she is in if you say dance class she is there. She will have her first performance on Dec. 3 so it should be fun. She is in 4T clothing and growing like a weed.

We have had a couple of bouts of sickness in our house with ALL of us but we got through it. Now we are all coughing again. It is just a vicious cycle.

We are getting ready for Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Chloe is already excited for Santa Claus.

Well it had to happen again sooner or later...the torture that is taking the girls to get pictures. I don't know what has happened to my little Chloe who was once a ham in front of the camera now she just shuts down. She is so shy it's crazy. Cayleigh doesn't know any better she just smiles at everyone and their funny things they are doing to try and get Chloe to smile. I wasn't dumb this time I took reinforcement, MiMi. We got some great shots of Cayleigh and Chloe has a few so enjoy.

I have a lot to catch up on...I will post pictures later but here we go...

Chloe: Is growing like a weed and her vocabulary amazes me everyday. Just over this past weekend she counted to 10 for me and said her ABCs all the way through. She still gets caught up on the LMNOP part but she's getting there. She loves swimming in the pool with Daddy and now goes down the slide all by herself and loves it. We were going to do swim lessons this Summer but we were too late for sign up, maybe soon. She loves playing dress up in her tu-tus and tap shoes. She definitely loves her little sister a lot and is a big helper. There is a slight jealousy issue some days when she is tired or hasn't seen mommy a lot but that is expected.

Cayleigh: She is a rolling fool. She started rolling over last weekend from back to front and now rolls everywhere, front to back back to front she's is mobile! She has started eating solids now, she doesn't like the cereal so much but digs fruit. We started on pears this weekend and she ate a whole jar. Couldn't get enough, Chloe was the same way with Pears. After we try a few fruits we will be on to veggies. We are only doing it once a day now because I'm not ready to take food to the daycare yet. I want to monitor her to see if she has any reactions. At her 4month appointment she was a little over 15lbs. 23.75 inches long. She is in already in 3-6 month clothing now and even some 6-9 month depending on the brand. Usually the more expensive stuff runs smaller, strange. She is sitting up very well supported and can sit there unsupported for a little bit before falling forward. She grabs at her feet a lot when sitting up so that is the reason she falls forward. She LOVES to talk. She LOVES hearing the sound of her own voice and sometimes I swear she is singing.

As for me I've gained more responsibilty at work. I am now in charge of Country Legends 97.1. I run it without the title. Oh well, titles are not important. So that makes about 5 jobs that I'm responsible for at the station. It's the economy and we are all doing more. I get to work very early and usually can't leave until 6 and still have work to do at home. Mom and I are currently training for the Houston Half Marathon. I'm running for the Snowdrop Foundation which gives scholarships to pediatric cancer survivors.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Jonah Matthew Staton. Jonah will be the first child of Summor and Matt. For those of you that don't know Summor and I have known eachother since we were in the womb as our mom's, Debbie & Susan, are best friends. I was in Summor's wedding this year while preggo with Cayleigh. I can't tell you how excited I am for Summor the experience the wonderful life of being a mom. I tell her all the time it will be the hardest thing you ever do but you will love every minute of it. Jonah doesn't know how lucky he is to have a mom and dad like Summor and Matt.

That's all for now. I promise I will post pictures later. I think I'm going to have to start sleeping 3 hours a night so I can keep up with everything.

Finally Presley and I can play now that the rain has finally stopped.

Chloe's birthday was great fun once it stopped flooding. Really the water was halfway up the yard the day of the party and Courtney and the girls got stuck under 225 at Center Street for an hour! We had a great time though and Chloe is still singing Happy Birthday to herself.

The next day we got to go to The Astros game for a party on the roof of Union Station. It was fun for the girls to run around and the adults had a great time too. Chloe didn't see much of the game but her and Presley sure loved playing in the sun and running around on a roof in downtown Houston.

Quick Update

I have tons of pictures to post from Chloe's second birthday and an Astros game but wanted to give a quick update while I have a minute.

Took Cayleigh to the doc yesterday for her 2 month checkup and doc said she is doing great! Here are her stats:

Weight: 11 pounds 10 ounces (70%)

Height: 23 1/4 inches (90%)

Head: 15 1/4 (85%)

She has started smiling a lot and talking to us. She sleeps through the night like a champ and loves when Chloe talks to her. In fact Chris and I walked in on Chloe telling Cayleigh a story last week and Cayleigh was so into it. I don't know what Chloe was telling her but it must have been the greatest story every with the way she was holding Cayleigh's attention.

Easter

Easter weeked was fun around here. First mommy and daddy got their first night out thanks to Lisa and Stefan's going away party for their wedding. The night ended early so the kids didn't stay away from home but they were apart from me for a whole 5 hours.

Then Easter Sunday Chloe got to have her first egg hunt in the backyard. She caught on right away. 20 eggs in like 5 minutes. The Easter is going to have to hide a little bit harder next year I think.

Cayleigh enjoyed the festivities as well meeting the entire Aubry family for the first time.

We couldn't let rodeo go by and not take Chloe. We went last year but Chloe was so little that it just wasn't fun for her because we couldn't really do anything. This year was totally different. We broke the rules and took Cayleigh with us. Who said you can't take a newborn out before she is 4 weeks. Seriously mommy needed out of the house. So MiMi, Mommy and Aunt Desi spent a day at the rodeo. Chloe loved the petting zoo and she did great on the pony ride, which I'm shocked about. She is a true little cowgirl I think...now if I could just get a place in the country for her to have some pigs and chickens.

Cayleigh and Chloe

It's been a rough two weeks in the Monson house. Right after we got Cayleigh home from the hospital Chloe got sick. She has been sick for two weeks now. She had Strep and on top of that a respiratory virus so between high fever and breathing treatments every 4 hours mommy is TIRED! Chloe is finally better, knock on wood, and she is back to loving having a little sister.

Cayleigh had her two week checkup in that time and she is a healthy good baby. She still has a little jaundice but doc says that comes natural with breastfeeding, which is great by the way. When we first took her in for her jaundice she had lost weight to 7lbs. 8oz. She is now up to 8lbs. 3oz. She is 21 3/4 inches long! Yes she is tall like her sister. She is cluster feeding at night which I'm trying to change. She wakes up every two hours to eat but during the day it is every 4.

We are loving being a big family now. I love having my girls and watching Chloe love her sister. Daddy is just trying to figure out how he is going to pay for two weddings.

Cayleigh Reese Monson has arrived

On Sunday March 1 I started feeling a little pain here and there in the morning. I just blew it off to the fact that I did a lot of walking around on Saturday. Then they started getting a little stronger and closer together as I was trying to get Chloe down for her nap. I actually started timing them then. Well at 2pm Chris and I said good-bye to our only child and were heading to the hospital to welcome her sister to the world. When we got there they made me walk for an hour to get me progressing a little, they almost sent me home and there was no way that now that I was there I was going to go home. Well it worked. Contractions were coming every 2.5 to 3 minutes. At 6pm they broke my water and about 7 I was at a 5 and the contractions were coming pretty quick and were really hurting. I got the epidural and was checked again by the doctor at 8:40, I was fully dialated and she had me do a test push. She said that if I worked hard we could have a baby in 5 minutes. So once they got me ready to go I pushed 4 times and she was here. 8:50pm Cayleigh Reese Monson came into the world. She is 8lbs. 20 inches long and doing great.

Chloe is adapting really well so far and is a great helper. She definitely loves being a big sister. Here are a few pictures. Thank you to everyone for all the kind words and prayers sent our way.

Went today for my ultrasound to see how big she is and whoa is she big. I did the same with Chloe and I was 37 weeks and Chloe from the ultrasound weighed 7lbs. 8oz. but came the next day at 7lbs. 13oz. Cayleigh at 36 weeks is 7lbs. 5oz. So if she doesn't come on her own soon they will induce at 38 weeks. I showed no progress today but who knows what could happen. Here are a couple of pictures. She is really crowded in there so we really couldn't see a lot.

Chloe's Best Friend

We finally got to see the Noones for the first time since the hurricane. Back then Courtney and I were barely pregnant and didn't know we were both having another girl and now we are both huge pregnant waiting for our little princesses to arrive. There is a possibility that we could be in the hospital at the same time but we are hoping not because then birthdays would be impossible to plan between the two of us. Chloe was excited because she loves hanging out with Presley. She was a little stand offish at first then Presley had a shadow following her everywhere and doing everything just like her. Chloe has not stopped asking where Presley is and I can actually use Presley to get Chloe to do things. I told her the other night when she wouldn't eat her veggies that Presley eats her veggies and Chloe ate her veggies. Pretty funny. This picture was taken with my phone so it's not great but you can see how Chloe is "looking up" to Presley.

Braxton is the son of one of my co-workers who moved here from Utah just a year ago so they don't know a lot of people with kids quite yet. For his birthday Elise (Braxton's mom) and Aric (Braxton's Dad) filled 500 balloons with air and helium and threw them in the extra room in their house and invited us over to play for Braxton's 2nd birthday. Well needless to say the kids had a blast. Chloe had her first real trampoline experience which was kind of shaky but she liked it. She didn't quite understand the jumping concept but was great at falling down. We had a great time and hope we made Braxton's birthday a little more special by having another kid his age around.

My Aunt Kelly had her annual recital this weekend and we finally were able to go now that we live on this side of town. Chloe was intrigued by the entire thing and we had a great time. Kelly played the Wicked Witch and Rudolph all in one night.

I did not give her the newspaper. She actually grabbed the Toys R Us ad from the paper, walked to the bathroom and said, "POTTY!" I tried to take the paper from her as you can see in the picture but she had a death grip on it. She does this probably 2 out of 4 times of going to the bathroom. If there is a book or magazine or paper, it is in her hand and she is heading to the potty. She must be learning that from her father!

Thanksgiving and more...

The family loaded up the truck and went to Hilltop for Thanksgiving. Everything was great until the oven went out. Good thing is the turkey was fried, the ham was already cooked and the sides could all be done in the microwave or on stove-top. Chloe loved being outdoors in the country and it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle. I came home a day early because I had to work. I worked on the tree on Saturday night and Chris and I worked on the house lights all day Sunday. I'm not quite done with the inside decorating but it won't be long and we will have our own winter wonderland in here.

Summor's Wedding

This weekend Summor got married! If you don't know Summor is the daughter of Susan and Susan and my mom were best friends through high school and still the best of friends today. Chloe has a virus so she is out of school today and hanging out with PawPaw. She's a girl after her Mom's heart with her love of shoes. With her feet as big as they are, she may fit in MeeMaw's shoes before you know it.

Halloween '08

Chloe had a great second Halloween. Granted last year she couldn't even crawl yet but this year she was all about it. The first house was a little shaky but she soon got the hang of it when she realized it was all about the candy. She would never say "Trick or Treat" at the door but did say it while we were walking from house to house. Thank you was easier for her and so was bye bye.

Well it has begun, POTTY TRAINING! My goal is to have Chloe totally potty trained before Cayleigh gets here. She has plenty of time and she is doing pretty good so far. They have put her in the 18-24mos. class at daycare where they potty train and she has gone a few times there. We found out this weekend that she likes to sit on the BIG potty and go.

She's gonna hate me for this one day.

18 Months and Growing

Chloe had her 18 month check-up yesterday. She did better than usualy but still cried the moment good 'ol Dr. Schaeffer walked in the door. He's such a nice man, I feel bad that Chloe screams in his face the whole time. Here are her stats...

Weight: 29lbs. 4oz. 95%

Height: 34in. 95%

Head: 19 1/4 cm (big headed like her mother)

Clothes: 2T/3T in most shirts and pants

Shoes: 6.5 or 7 wide depending on the maker

Talking: She is speaking in some sort of sentences now. Not sure what she is saying all the time but after a few tries I understand.

Food: Any type of pasta she's on it. She loves spaghetti and raviolis. Green beans are her favorite veggie right now but she also eats peas and lima beans pretty well. Yes lima beans, her father's favorite. Anything fresh fruit she will eat in 5 seconds to make sure she gets more, especially grapes and strawberries. She is pretty funny with bananas, she HAS to have them in the peel.

I haven't posted anything on this yet because I was really waiting for today. Chris and I were shocked back in June to find out we were pregnant with baby number 2. Believe me we didn't think we would be blessed twice. Now we find out today that we are blessed with another Princess. Preliminary names are Cayleigh Renee' or Cayleigh Reece. Still haven't decided on the middle name yet. It will for sure be Cayleigh though. Here is video from the big ultrasound today. She wasn't very cooperative at first. It took a lot of maneuvering to find out it was in fact a girl. We are due March 10 and cannot wait to see if this one has dark hair and eyes like her momma or we have another blonde!

It has become a tradition in the Monson household to attend the Renaissance Festival every year. This year was no different. We went with our friends Jenny & Guy and their cousins Rhea and Jaeden. The girls had a blast with Chloe and we all laughed at some of the strange people. It just seems to get weirder every year.

Chloe loves her puppies. She is so excited every morning when they come to her room to say good morning. She has to pet each one before I change her diaper and she is constantly patting them and laying on them, especially the big one (Maggie). Here is the cake for my second class. I had a caketastrophe on Sunday while icing the cake so I had some problems with that. Here are the clowns though. My friend Ashlee graduated from college and turned 22 all within weeks of eachother...so she had a party....she needed a cake....asked me to do it....and here it is. It's not perfect but the cake was almost gone before we left the party so it must've been good :)

I finally did it. I am actually taking cake decorating classes. It is something I have always wanted to do so I finally finally signed up for them. Here is the first creation. I hit some rough spots on the spokes of the wheels and almost ran out of icing so there are some holes. BUT I think for a first time effort it's pretty good. My back is killing me and my right hand is going to be stronger than ever. Next week it's a round layered cake with clowns on top then we go for the biggie...a cake with roses!!! I will be posting all pictures here, who knows maybe I will be good at it and I've got a business :)

Chloe is now 15 months old. We recently went to the doc for her latest round of shots and here are her stats...she's off the charts by the way...like seriously she doesn't go anywhere on the chart she's such a big girl.

4th of July

We had our first big road trip for 4th of July. We headed out to Port Aransas on Thursday to hang out with the McNuggets as we like to call them, the McAuliffes to everyone else. Chloe did pretty good on the car ride. She had her moments but not too bad. It rained and was cloudy the whole time so there wasn't much to do. Chloe learned to say bird and hung out with her new buddy Brayden. As far as fireworks she was amazed for 5 minutes and then wanted to walk around. All in all it was good 4th. We would have loved to have more sun but what are you gonna do?

Chris and I took a mini-vacation to San Antonio over the weekend so I took Monday off. Chloe and I went to the park for some swing time. She started off great and then she seemed to get a little dizzy. Then we walked all over the park and went down the slide together...A LOT!

It's been a busy week. Our annual free concert for the station was this weekend and my whole week was crazy. This was also the weekend of the Strawberry Festival in Pasadena and I could not believe I moved back to DP and wasn't going to get to take Chloe to the Strawberry Festival. Sunday was a gorgeous day so we decided to load up and go. We thought we would get more pictures but it was REALLY HOT so we stayed just long enough to eat some strawberry shortcake. We did get to take Chloe in her first petting zoo. She was a little shaky at first and then she was "talking" to every animal in there. I think she thought they were Maggie and Molly.

Last Mother's Day Chloe was about 3 weeks old. Now she is a year and I am so blessed to have her. I love being a mom. It is my greatest accomplishment ever. I was definitely meant to do this. Here are some pictures from our day. It was so fun spending the day at Mee Maw's celebrating her as MY mom and now Mee Maw. Not only that but Big Grandma, Aunt Cindy and MiMi (all mom's) were there too. Happy Mother's Day Everyone!

We had Chloe's year check up yesterday and boy was it a doozie. She got two shots which she handled pretty well. Before that though Doc had to dig wax out of her ears...again. She has double ear infections, slight sinus infection, allergies are causing red goopy eyes and she has what is some sort of skin problem. Not sure if it is eczema, got some cream for that though. UGH! Poor baby is going to hate the doctor for the rest of her life.

Of course she is off the charts for everything which no one is worried about because Chris and I are both tall and I'm a big girl so we are good there. Here are the stats...

Height: 32" (97th percentile)

Weight: 25#3 (95th percentile)

Chloe took a few steps towards me before she dove for my arms on Tuesday. She is starting to adapt to her new daycare and she eats like a champ. Before we know it she will be playing on a volleyball court or golf course somewhere.

WE MADE IT! Chloe turned one year old on Saturday. The party was perfectly planned...so you knew something had to go wrong. Chloe woke up Saturday morning with a goopy eye. While I was at MeeMaw and PawPaw's house getting stuff ready, Chris called and said Chloe's eyes were getting pink. So he brought her over and sure enough it was pink eye, I knew it. We went to the Family Clinic in DP and the doc had a family emergency so off to Dr. Metz...probably would have waited 4 hours with the looks of the parking lot. Then off to the new Redi Clinic in HEB, won't take anyone under 2. Then off to the Fairmont Emergency place...LONG wait. They said it would be over an hour and it was 1pm...party started at 2. We figured we have to wait, we have no choice we had to get some medicine in her eyes. Well that idea lasted about 10 minutes when this crazy woman kept talking to me while I was all stressed. So I called a few people and we got some medicine. Always good to take care of people in high places, who are doctors...remember that.

So after waiting at Walgreen's (the slowest one ever!) it was time to party....

MeeMaw, PawPaw and Aunt Desi did a great job decorating and getting everything ready while we had our little "emergency." The party was great. Chloe got A LOT of stuff, A LOT! Everyone was there. Even Kegan who had a little surgery on Friday, he made it. Chloe was great even with her goopy eyes. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and great friends, and of course our little Princess Chloe. It has been a year of ups and downs but we would do it all over again in a hearbeat.

First things first...we are in the new house! We love it and we can't wait to get COMPLETELY unpacked. We really can't wait for POOL time! OK so now for Easter. MeeMaw and PawPaw had a huge crawfish boil at their house and the whole family was there and some of their friends. Chloe got a giant peep from MeeMaw and PawPaw, a huge bunny that is really soft from Big Grandma and Grandpa, and a pink bunny that is SUPER soft from Aunt Anna and Uncle Edgar. It was so great hanging with the family and knowing we all live so close again. OH I can't forget the duck that Chloe got from Grandma and Poppy...OH MY GOSH! She loves it. It dances and sings "Splish Splash I was Takin' a Bath." Everytime it comes on she starts dancing. SO FUNNY! I will get it on tape eventually, when I find the camera in our moving mess :) Here are some pictures from Easter.

Chloe's First Rodeo Meet and Greet Picture

On St. Patrick's Day Chloe got to go to Rodeo AGAIN! Miranda Lambert did a little Up Close & Personal for us that day before her show so I went ahead and took Chloe because it was going to be quick. Rodeo is in it's second week and we are all tired. Not to mention we are in a new house, well sort of. We finally leased our house to a very nice and what we think is going to be a great tennant. SO last Friday (right in the middle of rodeo) my parents and Chris' mom helped us move from Cy-Fair to storage in Deer Park. Right now we are living with the parents until the house that we are moving into is ready. It is a great house in Deer Park and thank goodness has a pool! Expect a lot of pool parties this Summer. So in my parents house we have Deb, Jim, Christi, Chris, Chloe and a partridge in a pear tree...well a rottweiller and a lab upstairs :)

We are not exactly sure about when we are going to get to move into the new place but should be in the next week or so. Probably just in time for the third week of rodeo. Easter is around the corner and we can't wait to get Chloe in an Easter dress and watch her look for eggs.

Chloe's first birthday is quickly approaching. I have it planned in my head but haven't done anything yet. It will be great whatever it is. That is all for now. I will keep you posted on the move.

Rodeo In Houston

It's here...that wonderful time of year where we squeeze into skinny jeans, wear boots that make our feet hurt, spend tons of money on stuff that has bling bling on it and think the smell of cow poop is normal. RODEO! Since we are moving this week I only went to rodeo Monday and Tuesday of this week. Lisa and my boss Johnny are going to handle the rest of the week for me, THANK GOD! Chloe is officially eating nothing but table food now. The only baby food she really eats is her cereal and she tried waffles today at school and rocked at it. So the baby food has pretty much gone out the window. Which is great. She is an eater man. Especially baby goldfish, the snack not the animal. So last Friday we chanced it and at her usual dinner time went out to eat. These pictures were taken with my phone so please forgive. We decided to try a pony tail, she has Donald Trump hair otherwise.

A Weekend In DP

This weekend daddy went out of town with the boys this weekend and so mommy and I went to Mee Maw and Paw Paw's to stay. Mommy actually got a night out on Friday and I had a good time without her. Then I had to go to the doctor on Saturday to get my check up. I am off the charts big. I weigh 23.5 pounds (95%), I'm 30 7/8 inches tall (99%) and my head is 18 1/4 (95%). I had to get one shot so of course I cried, mommy and I had fun though laughing with Dr. Don. Saturday I had a play date with one of my many boyfriends Connor. Then we finally came home on Sunday and I was happy to see Daddy and my puppies. Here are a few pictures of me.

Milestones

Now that Chloe is crawling like crazy, pulling on EVERYTHING, and basically the crazy girl of her classroom, it is time for her to move up at daycare. She will now be in a class with babies that are around 8 mos - 12/14 mos. We will be sad to leave Miss T. and Miss Felicia since we have known them since the beginning but she is growing up and I guess we will love her new teachers just as much. The good news is Chloe is moving with 3 of her friends to the same class! Cassie, Iliana and her little boyfriend Tyce. I'll keep you posted on how she does. She starts transitioning Monday and by Friday she is officially in her new class. Keep your fingers crossed.

Chloe's first Christmas came and went and we were TIRED! Christmas eve we headed to Grammy's and Poppy's and we were there most of the day and you would think that would tire a kid out! NOPE. She wanted nothing to do with sleep but she had fun playing with cousin Alan and she got lots of fun toys and cute clothes. She especially liked Grammy's Christmas tree. Then Christmas morning we opened some presents at our house and then headed to Mee Maw and Paw Paw's to open gifts. She got more toys and cute clothes. Funny how all of her toys light up and sing the ABC song. I think I hear it in my slee.

I only have pictures right now from Christmas Day, the Christmas Eve pictures will be posted tonight. She barely napped the two days and I have learned that tights and pretty dresses are fun...for about 5 minutes. Here are some of the pictures. I hope everyone had a great Holiday season!
